Kaempferol-3,7-di-O-glucoside is a flavonoid that has been extracted from the plant genus Meconopsis. It is a potent antioxidant and has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on lipid peroxidation in a rat model of diabetes. Kaempferol-3,7-di-O-glucoside has also been shown to inhibit the activity of diode in thermophilic bacteria and can be used for the preservation of food products. This compound has also been found to be biosynthesized from kaempferol by sempervivum, sedum, and arvensis plants.
