Product Information
Phosphatidylethanol is a phospholipid that is found in high concentrations in the brain, heart, and other organs. It has been shown to inhibit the enzyme activities of phospholipase A2 and cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2), which are enzymes involved in inflammation and cancer. Phosphatidylethanol has also been found to be an effective inhibitor of melanoma antigen, which is a tumor marker for skin cancer. This molecule has also been observed to have anti-inflammatory effects by inhibiting the production of cytosolic Ca2+ and myeloma cell line proliferation. Phosphatidylethanol has also been shown to be active against infectious diseases such as tuberculosis, hepatitis B and C, HIV/AIDS, influenza A virus, dengue fever, malaria, and others. The biological sample used for this assay was blood plasma collected from a healthy human volunteer who had not taken any medication for at least two
