Pseudobaptisin is a flavonoid that has been isolated from the culture fluid of the fungus Coriolus versicolor. It inhibits the extracellular release of histamine and leukotrienes, which are inflammatory mediators. In vitro studies have shown that pseudobaptisin inhibits the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin-6 (IL-6). Pseudobaptisin also prevents autoimmune diseases in mice by suppressing immune responses. Pseudobaptisin is an acetyl derivative with a molecular weight of 328 Da. The nmr spectrum has been determined using chloroform/methanol (2:1) as solvent, with a solvent ratio of 1:5. The exudate from the fungus was dried under vacuum to remove water and the residue was dissolved in chloroform and methanol at a ratio of 1:5. This compound is
