Product Information

Name:
S-Petasin - Petasites japonicus (sweet coltsfoot)
Description:

Petasin is a cyclase inhibitor that inhibits the production of cAMP, which is an important second messenger in the regulation of cellular activity. Petasin has been shown to be effective against skin cancer cells in both subcutaneous and intracellular models. It also inhibits the growth of carcinoma cell lines. The cytotoxicity of petasin has been shown to be associated with its ability to inhibit phospholipase C and protein kinase C, enzyme targets that are involved in energy metabolism. Petasin also inhibits the production of eosinophil cationic protein and reactive oxygen species, which may contribute to its antitumor activity.
