Description:
3-(((9H-Fluoren-9-ylmethoxy)carbonyl)amino)hex-5-enoic acid is a prodrug that is converted into an active form by interacting with cytosolic protein. It is a potent estrogen receptor modulator and has been shown to interact with CDK4/6 inhibitors, leading to apoptosis in breast cancer cells. The n-oxide of 3HFLA has been found to be cytotoxic against cholangiocarcinoma cells and have estrogenic activity. In addition, it can also modulate the activity of the estrogen receptor by binding to the ligand-binding domain or the DNA binding domain. 3HFLA has been shown to inhibit eif4e, which leads to inhibition of protein synthesis and cell death.
