Product Information
3-Iodopyridin-2-ol is a carbamate that forms a complex with palladium to catalyze the coupling of unsymmetrical boronic acids. This reaction mechanism has been shown in the synthesis of bioactive molecules containing phosphine and nucleophilic functional groups. 3-Iodopyridin-2-ol is also used as an ligand in palladium-catalyzed cross coupling reactions. 3-Iodopyridin-2-ol absorbs light at wavelengths between 350 and 380 nm, which can be used to detect its presence. The compound has two functional groups: a phosphoryl group and a carboxylic acid group, making it nucleophilic. 3-Iodopyridin-2-ol is activated by boronic acids under conditions of high pH, low temperature, and high pressure.
