2',4'-Dimethoxyacetanilide is a silylating agent that reacts with electron-deficient aromatic compounds to form stable, highly selective silyl ethers. 2',4'-Dimethoxyacetanilide can be used in the synthesis of hydrosilanes from hydrosilane precursors and other functionalized aromatic compounds. This compound is also suitable for the synthesis of arylsilanes from aromatic halides and other electron-rich compounds.
