Product Information
(S)-2,4-Diaminobutanoic acid hydrobromide is an enzyme that belongs to the family of phosphotransferases. The enzyme catalyses the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to serine or threonine residues in proteins. It has been found that (S)-2,4-Diaminobutanoic acid hydrobromide binds to regulatory domains in mammalian cells and may be involved in the regulation of transcription. This enzyme also has a role in tuberculosis as it can bind to single-stranded DNA and this binding is orientation dependent. It has been shown that (S)-2,4-Diaminobutanoic acid hydrobromide can be used for the treatment of cancer.
