Product Information
Besifloxacin hydrochloride is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis. It is active against most Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as some strains of Mycobacterium tuberculosis and Mycobacterium avium complex. Besifloxacin hydrochloride has also been shown to have antiviral and antifungal activity against several viruses and fungi. This drug can be used in chemotherapy with other antibiotics or antiviral drugs to treat resistant microorganisms. Besifloxacin hydrochloride is not absorbed into the blood when taken orally, so it must be administered intravenously or by injection.
