Product Information

Name:
2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline
Description:

2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline is a structural analog of quinidine. It has been shown to inhibit uptake of gamma-aminobutyric acid, glutamate, and dopamine in rat brain synaptosomes. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline also inhibits the binding of dalcetrapib to hydrogen bonds of the GABA receptor and, as such, may be used for treatment of neurological disorders. The chemical structure of this compound is similar to other quinoline derivatives that have been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties. 2-(4-Methylphenyl)quinoline has not been tested on animals or humans for its pharmacological effects but has been observed to be reactive in electrochemical studies.
