Product Information
1-(2-Methyl-4-quinolyl)hydrazine is an organic compound that belongs to the hydrazine class of chemical compounds. It is used as a precursor to other compounds, including acetoacetate and ethyl acetoacetate. Hydrazine has been shown to be metabolized in vivo into acetone, which can lead to ketosis. Acetoacetate is formed by the oxidation of acetoacetaldehyde and is involved in the Krebs cycle. Acetone is also produced from the oxidation of acetoacetaldehyde and may accumulate in the blood, leading to ketosis. Ethyl acetoacetate is synthesized from ethanol and has been shown to have antioxidant properties.
