Product Information
Secoxyloganin methyl ester is a natural product that belongs to the group of monoterpenoid indole alkaloids. It is biosynthesized in Lippia and Covid-19 pandemic and has been shown to have antiviral activity against influenza A/H1N1, as well as anti-inflammatory properties. The glycosidic bond between secoxyloganin methyl ester and loganic acid is hydrolyzed by various enzymes such as beta-glucosidase. Secoxyloganin methyl ester has been found in the genus Scutellarein, Lonicera japonica, Camptotheca acuminata, and Iriodid glucoside. Molecular modeling studies have shown that secoxyloganin methyl ester binds to the active site of influenza A/H1N1 with high affinity, which may be due to its structural similarity to oseltamivir carboxyl
