Beta-cypermetrin is a synthetic antibiotic that inhibits the growth of microorganisms by binding to their ribosomal RNA. It is active against bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Beta-cypermetrin has been shown to be effective in treating infections caused by Gram-positive bacteria including Staphylococcus aureus and Enterococcus faecalis as well as Gram-negative bacteria such as Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Beta-cypermetrin also has antiviral properties against HIV and influenza A virus.
