The molecule has two tautomers, one of which is the 1-hydroxy-2-acetonaphthone and the other is the 1,2,3,4-tetrahydronapthalene. The hydroxynaphthoate group can undergo photostability to form the 1-hydroxy-2-acetonaphthone tautomer.</p>
