CAS:RSVA 405 is a drug that is used to reduce the risk of myopathy and other damage in patients who are undergoing surgery or other procedures. RSVA 405 is a non-ionic, non-thrombogenic, low viscosity, low protein binding, and non-inflammatory contrast agent. It can be administered intravenously or intraoperatively. RSVA 405 may be used as an alternative to ethyl palmitate because it has less potential for adverse effects on the heart. RSVA 405 has been shown to reduce infarct size in animal models by reducing reperfusion injury during the period of ischemia and reperfusion.
