:Lactulose
Descrição:
Lactulose é um dissacarídeo sintético composto de frutose e galactose, utilizado principalmente como laxante e no tratamento da encefalopatia hepática. É um líquido incolor a amarelo claro, viscoso e solúvel em água, o que facilita sua administração. Lactulose não é absorvido no trato gastrointestinal, o que lhe permite exercer seus efeitos atraindo água para o cólon, amolecendo as fezes e promovendo os movimentos intestinais. Além disso, é fermentado por bactérias colônicas, produzindo ácidos graxos de cadeia curta e diminuindo o pH, o que pode ajudar a reduzir os níveis de amônia em pacientes com doença hepática. Lactulose tem um sabor doce, tornando-o palatável para consumo oral. Sua estabilidade sob várias condições de pH e sua natureza não tóxica contribuem para seu uso generalizado em aplicações médicas. Embora geralmente seja bem tolerado, os efeitos colaterais potenciais podem incluir inchaço, gases e diarreia, particularmente com doses excessivas.
