5-Acetylindole

5-Acetylindole is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have anticancer activity. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by disrupting their mitochondria, which leads to cell death. 5-Acetylindole was synthesized in an attempt to increase the anticancer efficacy of indole compounds and acetylation of indole rings was found to be an effective strategy for this purpose.
