Descrição:
Dapsona, com o número CAS 80-08-0, é um antibiótico sulfonamida aromático utilizado principalmente no tratamento da hanseníase e certos tipos de dermatite, como a dermatite herpetiforme. É um pó cristalino branco a off-white que é ligeiramente solúvel em água e mais solúvel em solventes orgânicos como etanol e acetona. Dapsona funciona inibindo a síntese de folato bacteriano, exercendo assim seus efeitos antimicrobianos. Sua fórmula química é C12H12N2O2S, e tem um peso molecular de aproximadamente 240,3 g/mol. Dapsona é conhecido por suas propriedades anti-inflamatórias, tornando-o eficaz no tratamento de condições autoimunes da pele. Embora geralmente bem tolerado, pode causar efeitos colaterais como anemia hemolítica, especialmente em indivíduos com deficiência de glicose-6-fosfato desidrogenase. O monitoramento dos parâmetros sanguíneos é recomendado durante o tratamento. Dapsona é frequentemente usado em combinação com outros medicamentos para aumentar a eficácia terapêutica e reduzir o risco de resistência.
