In this study 4,6-Diamino-2-thiopyrimidine was found to be the most potent inhibitor of heparinase I activity with an IC50 of 1.5 mM. This compound is a trifluoroacetate salt that has a neutral pH and low solubility in water. It can be detected by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
