Lipid A (Salmonella)
CAS:
Lipid A is a bacterial endotoxin that activates macrophages and dendritic cells, which in turn activate T-cells. It is a ligand for the CD14 receptor, which is a pattern recognition molecule found on macrophages and dendritic cells. Lipid A also binds to the Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) on host cells, initiating an inflammatory response. Lipid A has been used as a research tool to study cell biology related to activation of macrophages and dendritic cells leading to cytokine production. This activator has also been used as a ligand in antibody studies, ion channel studies, protein interactions, pharmacology experiments with peptides, and life science research.
Formula:C110H208N2O26P2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:2,036.8 g/mol
