CAS 10125-13-0
:Copper chloride dihydrate
Description:
Copper chloride dihydrate, with the CAS number 10125-13-0, is an inorganic compound composed of copper, chlorine, and water molecules. It typically appears as blue-green crystals or a powder, which is indicative of its hydrated form. This compound is soluble in water, and its solubility increases with temperature. Copper chloride dihydrate is often used in various applications, including as a catalyst in chemical reactions, in electroplating, and as a pigment in ceramics and glass. It exhibits hygroscopic properties, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air, which can affect its stability and handling. The compound is also known for its antimicrobial properties, making it useful in certain biocidal applications. However, it should be handled with care, as it can be toxic if ingested or inhaled, and may cause skin and eye irritation. Proper safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment, are recommended when working with this substance.

CAS:
Copper(II) chloride dihydrate (CuCl2·2H2O) is a copper compound that can be used as an antimicrobial agent. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast and fungi by inhibiting cell division at the G1/S phase boundary. Copper(II) chloride dihydrate has also been shown to inhibit cyclin D2 production in HL-60 cells and to cause coumarin derivatives to react with DNA, leading to its structural analysis. It is soluble in water but insoluble in organic solvents. When exposed to air, it reacts with water vapor to form copper chloride (CuCl). Copper(II) chloride dihydrate is acidic and can react with bases such as amines or ammonia; this reaction may result in drug interactions.
Formula:CuCl2·2H2OPurity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:170.48 g/molCopper(II) chloride dihydrate (99.999%-Cu) PURATREM
