    <p>PSI 7411 is a molecule that inhibits the synthesis of RNA. This activity may be due to its ability to bind to the enzyme fatty acid synthase and inhibit the enzyme's activity. PSI 7411 has also been shown to reduce protein synthesis in herpes simplex virus, which has been shown to reduce replication of the virus. PSI 7411 also inhibits protein synthesis in rat liver microsomes, which may be due to its binding to an enzyme called uridine kinase and preventing it from catalyzing reactions.
