5-Fluoro-2-[(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)sulfanyl]aniline
CAS:Controlled Product
5-Fluoro-2-[(1-methyl-1H-imidazol-2-yl)sulfanyl]aniline (5FIA) is a potent inhibitor of protein interactions and has been used as a research tool for studying the function of proteins. 5FIA binds to the active site of the enzyme, which prevents the binding and hydrolysis of ATP, thereby inhibiting the formation of adenosine monophosphate. This process eventually leads to cell death by inhibiting protein synthesis. 5FIA has also been shown to inhibit ion channels, such as potassium channels, that are important in muscle contraction. The use of this agent as an antihypertensive drug is currently being investigated.
Formula:C10H10FN3SPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:223.27 g/mol
