Lomibuvir (VX-222)

Lomibuvir is a viral inhibitor that prevents the replication of viruses by binding to the protein inhibitors of viral replication. It also inhibits the ns3 protease of wild-type viruses and their ability to replicate. Lomibuvir has been shown to be effective in vitro against hepatitis A virus, hepatitis B virus, and HIV. Animal studies have shown that lomibuvir is able to inhibit the replication of human liver cells infected with the Hepatitis C virus.
