CAS:Controlled ProductPrednisolone 17-ethyl carbonate is a glucocorticoid that is used for the treatment of inflammatory skin diseases. Prednisolone 17-ethyl carbonate has been shown to inhibit the production of cytokines and chemokines in vitro, which are important mediators of inflammation. It also inhibits the production of proinflammatory mediators such as prostaglandin E2, leukotriene B4, and nitric oxide. Prednisolone 17-ethyl carbonate can be used to treat inflammatory skin diseases such as atopic dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, and erythroderma. It has been shown to have a higher anti-inflammatory potency than betamethasone or fluocinolone acetonide in clinical studies with other corticosteroids. This drug is also able to bind to glucocorticoid receptors in skin cells and inhibit the production of proteins that cause inflammation by binding to its receptor
