Consequently leading to hyperprolactinemia, a negative adverse effect when Risperidone is used as a drug. Risperidone has been shown to have cardiac effects, including increasing heart rate and QT interval. It is also metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and can be detected in wastewater after oral administration of a single dose (0.5 mg/kg).
