:Polaprezinc
Description:
Polaprezinc is a coordination compound that consists of zinc and the amino acid L-carnosine. It is primarily used for its gastroprotective properties, particularly in the treatment of gastric ulcers and other gastrointestinal disorders. The compound exhibits antioxidant activity, which helps in reducing oxidative stress in the gastric mucosa. Polaprezinc promotes the healing of gastric tissues by enhancing the production of mucin, a protective gel-like substance that lines the stomach, thereby contributing to the maintenance of the gastric barrier. Additionally, it has anti-inflammatory properties that can further aid in the healing process. Polaprezinc is typically administered in oral form and is well-tolerated, with a favorable safety profile. Its unique formulation allows for improved bioavailability of zinc, which is essential for various biological functions, including immune response and tissue repair. Overall, Polaprezinc serves as an effective therapeutic agent in managing gastrointestinal health, particularly in conditions associated with mucosal injury.

CAS:<p>Polaprezinc is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug that is used to treat various types of arthritis, such as osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It is a prodrug that is converted in the body to the active form, polaprezinc sulfone. Polaprezinc sulfone inhibits the activity of cyclooxygenase (COX) enzymes, which are involved in the production of prostaglandins. The activity of COX enzymes can be inhibited by blocking their synthesis or by inhibiting their activity. This inhibition leads to relief from pain and inflammation associated with these diseases. Polaprezinc also has been shown to inhibit growth factor-β1, an enzyme that stimulates cell proliferation, which may explain its efficacy in treating bowel disease. The molecular weight of polaprezinc sulfone is approximately 300 Da and it can be detected using plasma mass spectrometry or high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
