CAS:Hydroxy bendamustine is a cytostatic agent that inhibits the proliferation of cancer cells. It is an activated benzyloxymethyl derivative of bendamustine, which is a chemical compound with cytostatic activity that belongs to the class of alkylating agents. Hydroxy bendamustine is used in the treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia and other types of cancer. The oral dosage form can be administered once or twice per day and has a higher bioavailability than intravenous administration. The drug binds to specific antibodies in the bloodstream, preventing them from attaching to white blood cells, which prevents their activation and slows down the growth of cancer cells. Hydroxy bendamustine also exhibits anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis.
