:4-hydroxytoremifene
Description:
4-Hydroxytoremifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) that is primarily used in the treatment of hormone receptor-positive breast cancer. It is a derivative of toremifene, which is itself a non-steroidal anti-estrogen. The chemical structure of 4-hydroxytoremifene features a hydroxyl group at the fourth position of the toremifene molecule, enhancing its anti-estrogenic properties. This compound exhibits both estrogenic and anti-estrogenic effects depending on the target tissue, making it useful in managing estrogen-related conditions. Its mechanism of action involves binding to estrogen receptors, thereby inhibiting the proliferation of estrogen-dependent tumors. Additionally, 4-hydroxytoremifene has been studied for its potential effects on bone density and lipid profiles, contributing to its therapeutic profile. The substance is typically administered in a clinical setting, and its pharmacokinetics, including absorption, distribution, metabolism, and excretion, are important for determining appropriate dosing regimens. As with any medication, potential side effects and contraindications should be considered in clinical use.

CAS:4-Hydroxytoremifene is a selective estrogen receptor modulator toremifene active metabolite.Formula:C26H28ClNO2Color and Shape:SolidMolecular weight:421.964-Hydroxy toremifene
CAS:Controlled Product
Toremifene is an antiestrogen that binds to the estrogen receptor and blocks the interaction of estrogens with this receptor. It also inhibits epidermal growth factor, which stimulates cell proliferation. Toremifene is a chemotherapeutic agent that has been shown to inhibit oxidative DNA damage in human endometrial cells in vitro. Kinetic data showed that response element-mediated transcriptional activation was inhibited by toremifene at concentrations greater than 0.1 μM. A multicenter phase II trial showed that toremifene was effective for treating metastatic breast cancer. Toremifene can also be used for the treatment of estrogen-dependent cancers, such as prostate cancer and ovarian cancer, and may have other uses, such as in the treatment of metabolic disorders and liver diseases.
Formula:C26H28ClNO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:422 g/mol
