CAS 11099-07-3
:Glyceryl stearate
Description:
Glyceryl stearate, with the CAS number 11099-07-3, is a glycerol ester of stearic acid, commonly used as an emulsifier and thickening agent in various cosmetic and pharmaceutical formulations. It appears as a white to pale yellow waxy solid and is known for its ability to stabilize oil-in-water emulsions, making it valuable in creams, lotions, and ointments. Glyceryl stearate is characterized by its hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) value, which influences its emulsifying properties. It is generally recognized as safe for use in cosmetics and food products, exhibiting low toxicity. Additionally, it has moisturizing properties, contributing to skin hydration and texture enhancement. Glyceryl stearate is soluble in oils and fats but has limited solubility in water, which is typical for many emulsifiers. Its stability under various pH conditions and temperatures makes it a versatile ingredient in formulation chemistry. Overall, glyceryl stearate plays a crucial role in enhancing the performance and sensory attributes of a wide range of products.

Glyceryl stearate
CAS:
Glyceryl stearate is a fatty acid that belongs to the group of glycol esters. It is a light-sensitive substance and is used in chemiluminescence methods to detect the presence of bacteria. Glyceryl stearate has been shown to inhibit leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) production in chronic oral toxicity studies on rats. This compound also can be used as a skin moisturizer, an ingredient for skin cells, and as a monoclonal antibody carrier protein. The active form of glyceryl stearate is metabolized by hydrolysis of the ester bond or oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes. Glyceryl stearate may also have anti-inflammatory properties due to its ability to inhibit prostaglandin synthesis.
Formula:C18H36O2·xC3H8O3Purity:Min. 95%
