CAS 112-31-2
:Decanal
Description:
Decanal, with the CAS number 112-31-2, is a straight-chain aliphatic aldehyde characterized by its ten-carbon chain (C10H20O). It is a colorless to pale yellow liquid at room temperature, exhibiting a distinctive fatty, waxy odor reminiscent of orange peels. Decanal is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Its boiling point is relatively high compared to smaller aldehydes, reflecting its larger molecular size. Decanal is primarily used in the fragrance industry for its pleasant scent and is also utilized as a flavoring agent in food products. Additionally, it serves as an intermediate in organic synthesis and can be involved in various chemical reactions, including oxidation and reduction processes. Due to its aldehyde functional group, decanal can participate in reactions typical of aldehydes, such as nucleophilic addition. Safety considerations include its potential irritant properties, necessitating proper handling and storage to minimize exposure.

Dacanal
CAS:Dacanal is a glycol ether substrate that has been shown to be effective in the inhibition of bacterial growth. It has been shown to provide a film on the surface of liquids, which prevents the formation of air bubbles and helps maintain a uniform distribution of air entrainment. Dacanal also inhibits the enzymatic activities of acetylcholinesterase and monoamine oxidase in vitro assays. Dacanal was found to have an inhibitory effect against bacteria that are resistant to antibiotics, such as erythromycin-resistant strains of Staphylococcus aureus. This compound also contains natural compounds such as ethyl decanoate and malonic acid, which may contribute to its antibacterial activity.Formula:C10H20OPurity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:156.27 g/molRef: 3D-FD34293
