:HYDROXY ITRACONAZOLE
Description:
Hydroxy itraconazole is a derivative of itraconazole, an antifungal agent commonly used to treat various fungal infections. It is characterized by its ability to inhibit the synthesis of ergosterol, a vital component of fungal cell membranes, thereby disrupting fungal growth and replication. Hydroxy itraconazole exhibits a broad spectrum of antifungal activity, particularly against species of Candida and Aspergillus. The compound is typically administered orally and is known for its improved solubility and bioavailability compared to its parent compound. Its pharmacokinetics involve extensive metabolism in the liver, leading to the formation of active metabolites. Hydroxy itraconazole is also noted for its potential interactions with other medications due to its effects on cytochrome P450 enzymes. In clinical settings, it is often used in cases where other antifungal treatments have failed or are not suitable. Safety profiles indicate that it may cause side effects, including gastrointestinal disturbances and liver enzyme elevations, necessitating monitoring during treatment. Overall, hydroxy itraconazole represents an important option in antifungal therapy, particularly for resistant infections.

CAS:
Hydroxyitraconazole is an antifungal drug that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, a component of fungal cell membranes. It has been shown to be effective against a number of human pathogens, including Aspergillus fumigatus and Candida albicans. Hydroxyitraconazole has a broad spectrum of activity against a range of microbial organisms and is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. The pharmacokinetic properties of hydroxyitraconazole have been studied in humans with normal renal function. A pharmacokinetic study was conducted to determine the effects on serum cortisol concentrations after administration of hydroxyitraconazole. This drug is not metabolized by cytochrome P450 enzymes and it does not induce or inhibit other drug metabolism pathways. Hydroxyitraconazole also has no significant interaction with other drugs or food products
Formula:C35H38Cl2N8O5Purity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:721.63 g/mol
