It binds to protein ligands that are involved in the activation of antibody production. This inhibition blocks the receptor from binding with its natural ligand, preventing activation of T cells and B cells, and inhibiting antibody production. The methyl 2-(2-methoxy-4-prop-1-enylphenoxy)acetate may also be used as a research tool for studying cell biology and peptides.
