2-Methylcitric acid trisodium
CAS:
2-Methylcitric acid trisodium is a sodium salt of 2-methylcitric acid that is used in the treatment of pediatric metabolic acidosis. It is administered orally as a citrate salt and inhibits the enzyme aconitase, which converts citrate to isocitrate. This results in an increase in free citrate levels, which reduces the severity of metabolic acidosis by increasing extracellular pH. 2-Methylcitric acid trisodium also inhibits mitochondrial aconitase, leading to decreased production of ATP and increased production of lactic acid. This can result in muscle weakness, myalgia, and fatigue.
Formula:C7H10Na3O7Purity:Min. 85%Molecular weight:272.10 g/mol2-Methylcitric acid trisodium
CAS:
2-Methylcitric acid trisodium (Methylcitric acid) is an endogenous metabolite in the 2-methylcitric acid cycle, which accumulates in methylmalonic and propionic acidemias.
Formula:C7H7Na3O7Purity:98%Color and Shape:SolidMolecular weight:272.1
