Panaxyne
CAS:Panaxyne is a mixture of hexanoic acid, octanoic acid, and decanoic acid. It has been shown to have significant cytotoxicity against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. Panaxyne has also been found to inhibit lipid peroxidation and inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species by inhibiting the enzyme activity of cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) in human leukemia cells. The anticancer effects of Panaxyne are likely due to its ability to inhibit protein synthesis, cell division, and cell growth. Panaxyne is a reactive fatty acid that can be used as an active ingredient in inflammatory diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis. Hexane extracts from soybean oil were found to have a significant inhibitory effect on the COX-2 enzyme activity in human leukemia cells. These results suggest that Panaxyne may be useful for treating cancer, especially leukemia.
