CAS:
NHS-diazirine is a fluorescent dye that is used as a marker for the diagnosis of cancer. NHS-diazirine reacts with amino groups on proteins and fatty acids, and can be detected by fluorescence microscopy. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria in vitro and in vivo, by binding to the active site of cycloheximide, an antimicrobial agent. The compound has also been used to distinguish between benign and malignant breast tissues. NHS-diazirine has been shown to bind to histidine residues on proteins, which may be correlated with its ability to inhibit protein synthesis in both experimental models and human cancer tissue samples.
Formula:C9H11N3O4Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:225.2 g/mol
