CAS:<p>3,4-Dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-7-carbaldehyde is a tetracyclic compound that has been shown to inhibit the replication of hepatitis C virus in cell culture and to possess antiviral activity against HIV. The compound binds to the phenyl group of the enzyme and prevents it from serving as a substrate for the reaction. 3,4-Dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-7-carbaldehyde also inhibits the expression of HIV gene products when administered to cells at low concentrations.<br>3,4-Dihydro-2H-1-benzopyran-7-carbaldehyde has not been reported to have any adverse effects on healthy cells.
