  • 7-Hydroxy ondansetron

    <p>7-Hydroxy ondansetron is an active form of ondansetron that is selectively extracted from human serum using a liquid-liquid extraction procedure. It has been shown to have the same activity as the racemic mixture of 7-hydroxy and (S)-7-hydroxy ondansetron in inhibiting the uptake of diazepam, and it can be used as a marker for human serum. The uptake rate of 7-hydroxy ondansetron was found to be statistically dependent on the concentration of caffeine in solution and can be measured by high performance liquid chromatography analysis. The chromatographic method used to measure this uptake rate is based on the use of acetonitrile as a mobile phase, which is applied to a C18 column with a gradient elution program.</p>
