CAS:2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone is a matrix effect agent that is used in sample preparation. It has been shown to be useful as a radiation shield and as an additive to sodium trifluoroacetate for vitrification. 2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone has been shown to have a protective effect on prostate cancer cells and skin cancer cells in vitro. It also induces apoptosis in these cells by causing intramolecular hydrogen transfer, which results in the formation of reactive oxygen species. 2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone is water soluble and can be used for wastewater treatment, as well as locomotor activity studies. In vivo models have found that 2,4-dihydroxybenzophenone inhibits the growth of skin cells (e.g., mcf-7).Formula:C13H10O3Purity:Min. 95%Color and Shape:Slightly Yellow PowderMolecular weight:214.22 g/mol
