Description:
Sodium hydroxide, commonly known as caustic soda or lye, is an inorganic compound with the formula NaOH. It is a white, odorless solid that is highly soluble in water, producing a strongly alkaline solution. Sodium hydroxide is hygroscopic, meaning it can absorb moisture from the air, and it is typically encountered in solid form as pellets, flakes, or granules.
