CAS 13171-00-1
:Celestolide
Description:
Celestolide, with the CAS number 13171-00-1, is a synthetic fragrance compound commonly used in the formulation of perfumes and personal care products. It is characterized by its musky scent, which is often described as warm and powdery, making it a popular choice for enhancing the olfactory profile of various products. Celestolide is a member of the macrocyclic musk family, which are compounds known for their long-lasting fragrance properties. This substance is typically used in low concentrations due to its potency and is valued for its stability and compatibility with other fragrance ingredients. In terms of physical properties, Celestolide is generally a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a relatively high boiling point. It is soluble in organic solvents but has limited solubility in water. Safety assessments indicate that Celestolide is considered safe for use in cosmetics and personal care products when used as directed, although it is always important to adhere to regulatory guidelines regarding fragrance ingredients.

CAS:
Celestolide is a chemical that has been synthesized for use as an EPA-approved chemical for wastewater treatment, as well as a feedstock for the production of pharmaceuticals. It has been shown to have high resistance to nitro and acid hydrolysis and is stable in the presence of organic solvents, such as methanol or acetone. Celestolide is also resistant to human serum degradation, making it an excellent candidate for protein analysis using analytical methods such as dispersive solid-phase extraction (DSPE) or solid phase microextraction (SPME). The reaction mechanism of celestolide is not well understood. It may be a prodrug that undergoes enzymatic activation by phosphodiesterase and/or phosphodiesterase-like enzymes.
Formula:C17H24OPurity:Min. 98 Area-%Color and Shape:PowderMolecular weight:244.37 g/mol1-(6-(tert-Butyl)-1,1-dimethyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-inden-4-yl)ethanone
