    <p>Decahydro-1H-pyrrolo[3,4-a]indolizine is a dipolar cycloadduct that is formed when maleimide reacts with benzene in the presence of a dipolar reagent. This reaction can be used to synthesize pyrroloquinoline quinone (PQQ) derivatives. The intramolecular cyclization of the resultant product is catalyzed by an enzyme such as malic acid or NADPH and results in the formation of two new carbon atoms linked together by a double bond. This type of cycloaddition is called a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition.</p>
