8-BENZYLOXY-N2-ISOBUTYRYL-2'-DEOXYGUANOSINE

Description:
8-Benzyloxy-N2-isobutyryl-2'-deoxyguanosine is a modified nucleoside that features a benzyl ether group at the 8-position of the guanine base and an isobutyryl group at the N2 position. This compound is part of a class of nucleoside analogs that can be utilized in various biochemical and pharmaceutical applications, particularly in the study of nucleic acid interactions and the development of antiviral or anticancer agents. The presence of the benzyl group enhances lipophilicity, potentially improving membrane permeability, while the isobutyryl modification can influence the compound's biological activity and stability. As a nucleoside derivative, it retains the core structure of deoxyguanosine, which is essential for incorporation into nucleic acids. Its unique structural features may also affect its binding affinity to enzymes and receptors involved in nucleic acid metabolism. Overall, this compound serves as a valuable tool in medicinal chemistry and molecular biology research.

  • 8-Benzyloxy-N2-isobutyryl-2-deoxyguanosine

    CAS:

8-Benzyloxy-N2-isobutyryl-2-deoxyguanosine is a novel, potent and selective anticancer drug that has been shown to inhibit the growth of a variety of human tumor cells in vitro and in vivo. It also has antiviral activity against herpes simplex virus type 1. The drug is an analog of 8-benzyloxyguanosine, a nucleoside which is structurally related to guanine. This compound is synthesized from the corresponding diphosphate and monophosphate derivatives by the action of DNA polymerase and DNA ligase. 8-Benzyloxy-N2-isobutyryl-2-deoxyguanosine inhibits viral replication by binding to the viral DNA polymerase and preventing further synthesis, as well as inhibiting cellular RNA synthesis.
