It has been shown to have the ability to inhibit tubule cells in carcinoma cell lines by binding to the protein target, nitrogen atoms, and hydrophobic effect. 4-Sulfamylbenzoic acid has also been shown to bind to the drug transporter and receptor activity. This binding prevents the formation of an inhibitor-transmitter complex with the enzyme that is required for transport or receptor activity, as well as inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division.
