CAS 13931-64-1
:Cyclohexanemethanol, α-ethyl-, 1-carbamate
Description:
Cyclohexanemethanol, α-ethyl-, 1-carbamate, identified by CAS number 13931-64-1, is an organic compound characterized by its carbamate functional group, which is derived from the reaction of cyclohexanemethanol and an isocyanate. This compound typically exhibits properties such as being a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a moderate viscosity. It is soluble in organic solvents and may have limited solubility in water due to its hydrophobic cyclohexane ring. The presence of the carbamate group suggests potential applications in the synthesis of polymers, coatings, or as an intermediate in organic synthesis. Additionally, the α-ethyl substitution can influence its reactivity and interaction with biological systems, making it of interest in medicinal chemistry. Safety data should be consulted for handling, as carbamates can exhibit varying degrees of toxicity and environmental impact. Overall, this compound's unique structure and functional groups contribute to its potential utility in various chemical applications.

1-Cyclohexylpropyl carbamate
CAS:
1-Cyclohexylpropyl carbamate is a diagnostic agent that can be used to measure inflammatory bowel disease. It is an analog of 1-cyclohexyl-2,2,2-trifluoroethyl carbamate. The compound is insoluble in water and must be reconstituted with a diluent prior to use. The particle size of the reconstituted compound can be adjusted by varying the concentration of the diluent. 1-Cyclohexylpropyl carbamate binds to herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) with high affinity and has been shown to inhibit HSV-2 replication in cell culture. Iontophoresis is a technique for delivering ionic molecules into tissue by means of an electric field. This technique has been shown to increase the concentration of 1-cyclohexylpropyl carbamate within cells infected with HSV-2.
Formula:C10H19NO2Purity:Min. 95%Molecular weight:185.26 g/mol
