3H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-thione, 2,4-dihydro-4-(phenylmethyl)-5-(2-thienyl)-

Description:
3H-1,2,4-Triazole-3-thione, 2,4-dihydro-4-(phenylmethyl)-5-(2-thienyl)-, identified by CAS number 139614-67-8, is a heterocyclic compound featuring a triazole ring, which is a five-membered ring containing three nitrogen atoms. This compound exhibits thione characteristics due to the presence of a sulfur atom in the thione functional group, contributing to its reactivity and potential biological activity. The structure includes a phenylmethyl group and a thienyl substituent, which can influence its solubility, stability, and interaction with biological targets. Compounds of this nature are often studied for their potential applications in pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and as ligands in coordination chemistry. The presence of multiple functional groups suggests that it may exhibit diverse chemical behavior, including potential antioxidant, antimicrobial, or antifungal properties. Its synthesis and characterization would typically involve standard organic chemistry techniques, and its properties can be further explored through various analytical methods such as NMR, IR spectroscopy, and mass spectrometry.

  • 4-benzyl-5-(2-thienyl)-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol

    CAS:

4-Benzyl-5-(2-thienyl)-1,2,4-triazole-3-thiol (BTT) is a molecule that belongs to the class of thiourea derivatives. It has been used as an anti-inflammatory agent in animal models and has shown promising results for the treatment of human inflammatory diseases. BTT is a thiol which can reversibly bind to proteins by forming a covalent bond with the sulfur atom. This interaction inhibits the production of proinflammatory cytokines such as IL-6 and TNFα by inhibiting NFκB activation. The functional theory for BTT is based on its ability to prevent the formation of reactive oxygen species by inhibiting lipid peroxidation induced by ROS. In addition, BTT may suppress inflammation through inhibition of histamine release from mast cells.
