:Triptorelin acetate
Description:
Triptorelin acetate is a synthetic peptide and a gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) analog, primarily used in the treatment of hormone-sensitive conditions such as prostate cancer, endometriosis, and precocious puberty. It functions by initially stimulating the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), leading to a temporary increase in sex hormone levels. However, with continuous administration, it causes downregulation of GnRH receptors, resulting in decreased secretion of these hormones and subsequent suppression of testosterone and estrogen production. Triptorelin acetate is characterized by its stability and potency, with a molecular formula that includes multiple amino acids, contributing to its biological activity. It is typically administered via injection and has a relatively long half-life, allowing for less frequent dosing. The compound is also known for its potential side effects, which may include hot flashes, mood changes, and injection site reactions. Overall, Triptorelin acetate is a valuable therapeutic agent in managing various hormone-related disorders.

CAS:
Triptorelin is an agonist of gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (GnRH-R). Androgen-deprivation therapy (ADT), based on GnRH agonists and antagonists, is the standard therapeutic approach for prostate cancer (PCa) patients. In castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) GnRH agonists are associated with significant anti-proliferative/pro-apoptotic, anti-metastatic and anti-angiogenic effects, mediated by the Gαi/cAMP signalling cascade. The tryptophan residue in this peptide is replaced with the D-amino acids making the peptide resistant to degradation from proteases and therefore increasing the half-life of the peptide in vivo. Peptide is for research purposes only, strictly not for human use.
Molecular weight:1,310.6 g/mol
