CAS 141-97-9
:Ethyl acetoacetate
Description:
Ethyl acetoacetate, with the CAS number 141-97-9, is an organic compound classified as a beta-keto ester. It has a molecular formula of C6H10O3 and features a characteristic structure that includes both an ester and a ketone functional group. This compound is typically a colorless to pale yellow liquid with a fruity odor, making it useful in flavoring and fragrance applications. Ethyl acetoacetate is known for its reactivity, particularly in condensation reactions, and serves as a versatile building block in organic synthesis, including the preparation of various pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. It is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether but has limited solubility in water. Additionally, it exhibits moderate volatility and can be flammable, necessitating careful handling and storage. Ethyl acetoacetate is also used in the production of dyes and as an intermediate in the synthesis of other chemical compounds, highlighting its importance in both industrial and laboratory settings.

CAS:
Ethyl 3-oxobutanoate (E3OB) is a sterically active compound with high values. It has been shown to inhibit the replication of HIV and other retroviruses. E3OB inhibits viral replication by binding to the enzyme reverse transcriptase, which is responsible for converting RNA into DNA. The reaction mechanism of E3OB is as follows: it reacts with the substrate film and forms an ester hydrochloride, which then reacts with malonic acid to form a coumarin derivative. This derivative interacts with wild-type HIV strain and inhibits its replication.
Formula:C6H10O3Purity:Min. 98%Color and Shape:Clear LiquidMolecular weight:130.14 g/mol
