It inhibits the activity of the enzyme amp-activated protein kinase, which is a regulator of cell growth and survival. This inhibition leads to decreased tumor size and improved prognosis for patients with cancer. IDF-11774 has also been shown to inhibit cancer cells from spreading by preventing the synthesis of new proteins.
