:Terlipressin
Description:
Terlipressin is a synthetic analog of vasopressin, a naturally occurring peptide hormone. It is primarily used in clinical settings for its vasoconstrictive properties, particularly in the management of conditions such as esophageal variceal bleeding and septic shock. Terlipressin acts on V1 receptors, leading to increased vascular resistance and reduced blood flow to certain organs, which can help stabilize blood pressure. The substance is typically administered intravenously and has a relatively long half-life compared to vasopressin, allowing for less frequent dosing. Terlipressin is characterized by its ability to induce smooth muscle contraction, particularly in the splanchnic circulation, which is beneficial in controlling portal hypertension. Its chemical structure includes a modified peptide sequence that enhances its stability and potency. While generally well-tolerated, potential side effects may include hypertension, abdominal pain, and ischemic events, necessitating careful monitoring during treatment. Overall, terlipressin is a critical therapeutic agent in critical care and gastroenterology.

Terlipressin
CAS:Terlipressin is a synthetic analog of vasopressin which is used as a vasoactive drug in the management of hypotension. It acts as a prodrug, as it is converted to (Lys⁸)-vasopressin by removal of the N-terminal triglycine in vivo. This vasopressin analog has a longer duration of action and a better safety profile than the parent compound. Terlipressin has found application in the management of acute variceal hemorrhage (esophageal varices), hepatorenal syndrome, and norepinephrine-resistant septic shock.Formula:C52H74N16O15S2Purity:≥ 98%Color and Shape:WhiteMolecular weight:1227.39TERLIPRESSIN FOR NMR IDENTIFICATION CRS
